The Church Room

Named for the photo of the Bodie Church that hangs in it, large, light and bright The Church Room is a breath of fresh air. Clean new floors pair well with the vintage blue velvet wallpaper originally hung over 50 years ago. Antique head boards, nightstands and bureau give a historic feel. This room has a quaint corner sink located just as you enter and a separate toilet and full bathtub allowing for more practical use of the space when more than one needs to use the facilities. Boasting two Queen sized beds this is one of the largest rooms in the hotel and sleeps 4 comfortably. A wall heater for those chilly spring or fall evenings and cooling tower or fans are available for the warmer months, however with the shades pulled slightly and a few windows open the cross breeze feels lovely. The only evidence that this room was once two is the placement of the light switches, you’ll find one above the headboard nearly camouflaged in wallpaper which may have been near a door way once upon a time.

"Nice historical hotel originally from Bodie ghost town, owner is friendly and accommodating. The beds and pillows were comfortable. I came for the ghosts and wasn't disappointed, although you will need paranormal equipment to interact with them otherwise you may not experience anything as they took some time to talk to me. The area has some really good food, there is a courthouse and jail you can check out across the street, the cemetery and jail are accessible at night and there are some cool hidden hot springs you can soak in (ask the owner Jeff). Bodie ghost town isn't far away."
